The Saugus River Watershed Council is a non-profit organization concerned
with the health and beauty of the Saugus River and its watershed. We
organized in 1991 as the Saugus River Advocacy Group. Since then, we
have:
- organized interpretive walks and educational exhibits
- lobbied for protection of the river
- inventoried the river and its banks
- conduct a water quality testing program
- worked on fish habitat restoration
- participated in river cleanups
- reached out to other organizations to work together on conserving
the Saugus River
We encourage you to join us. Walk or canoe the river.
Get your hands muddy in a conservation restoration project, promote
the Saugus River through advocacy, education, field studies, and special
events. We offer many ways for you to get involved.
"The Saugus River is a vital
part of our town -- for lobstermen, sports enthusiasts, and the general
public. "
Dick Barry, Saugus Board of Selectmen
